It may be rock bottom because of an actual physical consequence such as losing your job or going into debt, or because of the pain caused to a loved one, or of course both. Or it might be a rock bottom moment that was purely emotional - such as the terror you felt when you nearly got caught or the acute sense of shame you felt around a particular event, such as missing a special occasion because of your addiction or having to pretend to be someone you’re not. If you can’t choose the worst occasion, use two or three. In your mind’s eye, go back to that time and write down exactly what happened. As well as writing the facts, also write down exactly how you felt while it was happening and how you felt over the subsequent hours and days. When you have completed this, spend some time reading back over the rock bottom events you’ve listed and write down how you feel now as you bring them back into your conscious memory. How does it feel to see it written down in black and white? PreviousSubmit53117
